SSC seeks an experienced Systems of Systems Engineer for its Boulder, CO location on the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) program

The candidate will support the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRs) SBIRS Auxiliary Support Center (SASC) environment. This position receives day-to-day operations guidance from OSL Chief Engineer and will represent SASC from a technical systems-of-systems engineering perspective possessing in-depth knowledge of the SASC operational environment and its interface with other components and subsystems

The candidate will engage in frequent inter/intra-organizational and customer coordination supporting the OSL CE in the development and maintenance of LOB factory infrastructure mission analysis, systems requirements analysis, operations concepts, requirements and interface baselines and their verification to include transition; training; logistics; and operations

The candidate will travel periodically to Sunnyvale California to liaise with CE and SASC team collaborating on infrastructure deployment and integration projects across EMD, CLS, SFP, GEO-5/6 TR contracts

The candidate will lead small to medium factory infrastructure projects across development, production and sustainment domains creating schedules, assigning resources and guiding project to completion by ensuring organization tasking remains on-track

The candidate will support CE in management of overall factory technical baseline by ensuring technical integrity and consistency, focus area objectives are met per customer expectations, artifacts are architecturally sound and aligned with baseline segment and enterprise architecture, products are successfully delivered on time and defect free, and arbitrating technical issues consistent with LOB factory infrastructure funding and schedule baseline

Basic Qualifications
- Must have an active SECRET clearance
- In-depth experience with Microsoft Project and experience with Visio, Excel, Word
- Ability to perform job duties independently with minimal supervision and following CE defined priorities leading projects from inception to completion ensuring cross organizational tasks remain on-track and within schedule identifying and escalating cost/schedule impacts and issues
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Team player with strong interpersonal, communications and writing skills

Desired skills
- Experience with SBIRS Ground processes, engineering workflow lifecycles, and engineering tools (eRack, AutoCAD, DOORS, System Architect)
- Experience with Space Satellite Programs and execution of launch and early on-orbit testing
- Experience maintaining collaborative interactions with SBIRS Directorate and internal LM leadership counterparts keeping them apprised of infrastructure objectives status and architectural issues found during baseline implementation and evaluation
- Knowledge of data center implementation / sustainment methodologies, technologies, and approaches
- Experience with LM Proposal workflow lifecycle and LM cost account approaches
- Experience leading architecture and integration collaboration sessions with program functional groups to include Space Segment subject matter experts; space vehicle subsystem engineers; flight operations support engineers; SEIT integration and verification engineers; ground software, hardware and network engineers; and development integration, verification, and regression testing engineers
- Experience leading small to medium engineering teams across network, hardware, software, integration, verification disciplines
- SBIRS program experience specifically in the SBIRS Factories domain
- Ability to understand other discipline's tasks and to communicate compliance needs to other disciplines
- Ability to autonomously identify areas for process improvements and then able to work with other disciplines to implement
- Experience / knowledge with Systems-of-Systems Engineering and adherence to sound engineering lifecycle workflow across hardware, software, network, interfaces, high-level/detail design, integration, verification, and regression testing
- Experience leading small projects from creation to implementation
- Experience with creating LM technical engineering documentation, conducting engineering assessments, and following tailored LM program plan objectives
- Bachelors degree with a minimum of 3-5 years experience
