Provide technical subject matter expertise to the engineering organization in a faced paced environment supporting THAAD Production, Development and Post-Production efforts. Provide all aspects of technical expertise to effectively guide the engineering team to drive timely resolution of technical issues, implement affordability measures to reduce AUPC, and execute development scope. Primary technical interface with chief engineers, central engineering organizations, program executive leadership and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) THAAD Project Office (TPO) Missile customer. Brings technical expertise to bear in directly leading resolution of the most challenging technical problems

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in an Engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college
• Minimum 10 years technical experience related to missile, launch vehicle and/or space system development
• Minimum 5 years of technical leadership
• Experience supporting production of missile, launch vehicle, space vehicle or aircraft electronics hardware or integration of electronics systems in a missile, launch vehicle, space vehicle, and/or aircraft production environment
• Experience in all phases of development life cycle (to include proposal, design, qualification, requirements verification/validation, production and deployed system support)
• Experience leading rigorous failure analysis via formal failure review boards
• Familiarity with configuration control and quality control tools and systems (e.g. EPDM, Q-notes, VRICs)
• Experience interfacing with customer representatives and leadership at the VP level or higher
• Must be willing to travel as business need requires, potentially frequently or for extended periods

Desired skills
• Experience in working across multiple Lockheed Martin Business Areas
• Experience working with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
• Experience working on THAAD
• Experience in troubleshooting of Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) failures and/or complete knowledge of troubleshooting/root cause approaches, tools and analytical methods
• Experience as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or equivalent design lead responsibilities for missile, launch vehicle, spacecraft or aircraft product(s)
• Experience working closely with major subcontractors
• Knowledge and experience in the following relevant disciplines: Propulsion, Ordnance, Mechanical Structures, Avionics Electronics, Navigation, Guidance & Control, Missile Performance, 6DOF simulation, Materials & Processes, EEE parts, Flight Software, Reliability, Safety, Support Equipment
• Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, management and customers.
• Technical depth and breadth related to development, including expert level technical depth in at least one engineering discipline and experience in adjacent technical disciplines.
• Ability to drive closure and resolve technical issues/challenges
• Demonstrated commitment to development and deployment of productivity improvements and leveraging new technologies
• Ability to develop technical talent and to build technical pipelines to sustain technical expertise within the organization
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with Central Engineer, Program and Customer
