This is an opportunity to work on the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS) System Engineering team. L&TS a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of systems integration and test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues

This position is for a System Integration Lead Engineer to work on the F-35 USRL (United States Reprogramming Laboratory) Project, located at Eglin Air Force Base (Fort Walton Beach, Florida). The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the USRL onsite System Integration activities at the USRL Facility. These responsibilities will be focused on leading a team in resolving system anomalies and incorporating new system capabilities to ensure system operation and integration of new system capabilities that align with project milestones to meet our customer’s reprogramming needs. The system integration team may vary from being co-located in Eglin or remotely located in Fort Worth depending on the scope of unique integration efforts being performed

The system integration activities include providing technical oversight for: System Integration Planning, System Integration execution, participation in System Requirements Reviews, participant in Supplier Technical Reviews, System Configuration Management Controls, System Requirements Verification, System Performance Validation, and Acceptance Testing of the USRL system

This position will require close coordination with NIRL Project Leadership and with F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) representatives, plus proactive engagement with L&TS simulation software, subsystem procurement, hardware development teams, and other teams both inside and outside LM Aeronautics, to ensure an effective system engineering communication interface is established and maintained across the different USRL subsystems development teams. To support the coordination activities may require frequent travel to Fort Worth and to supplier and government work sites

This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided

Basic Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. -Active secret clearance required to start

-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
-Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of System Engineering practices in performing system integration planning and execution, system requirements verification on complex aircraft simulation systems.
- Experience in development of avionics hardware in-the-loop simulation systems
- Demonstrated functional and interface knowledge in one or more of the following: avionics simulations, avionics sensors, such as radar, electronic warfare, CNI, or IR subsystems

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires a Secret security clearance to start, with a current background investigation

Desired skills
-Degrees preferred: Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics
- Familiarity with F-35 Mission Systems Architecture and subsystems.
- Experience in development of System Requirements and Allocation to subsystems
- Experience in development of detail System Integration Plans
- Experience in execution of System Integration of Complex Systems
- Working knowledge regarding military threat analysis.
- Experience in development and execution of System Test Procedures
- Experience in delivering products to external customers
- Demonstrated experience in detail planning (estimating, task scheduling using MS Project)
- Working knowledge of EVMS and implications to project decision making
- Willingness to support Travel to various work sites
- Strong technical leadership
- Strong oral written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
