Job Details

Experienced Systems Engineer performing systems integration and verification for the Common Missile Compartment (CMC) on the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program. The ideal candidate will have a strong requirements, verification, design, architecture and integration background and demonstrated experience integrating large complex systems among several large organizations.

He or she will also have excellent interpersonal skills to represent Lockheed Martin and the Navy customer on several working groups formed to integrate the D5 Missile into the Dreadnought and Columbia Class submarine-launched ballistic missile platforms. The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, provide effective presentations and interface directly with the customer. Applicant must be self-motivated, a self-starter, team oriented, and must enjoy engaging and interfacing with a broad group of stakeholders

Duties include:
- Providing integration across the Special Test Vehicles (STV) and AIMs, Support Equipment, Missile System Facilities Mods & Integration, Fleet Implementation, IA&T Ops, Reentry and SWS Facilities Planning and Integration
- Provide decomposition of STV requirements to ensure adequate data is collected and analysis is performed for verification/compatibility to ensure proper integration
- Provide support to STV working and planning groups including attending meetings, developing support plans to the working groups and integrating across the CMC program to resolve action items
- Conduct major milestone reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.)
- Preparing and presenting technical status and issues to management
- Ability to design products and produce drawings
- Ability to work with Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment

Basic Qualifications
* Must have a technical Bachelor's degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college
* Experience with Concept of Operations development, requirements/interface definition and analysis, systems integration, verification and validation planning and execution
* Demonstrated knowledge in Systems design, systems build, and systems test processes
* Experience with Modeling and Simulation
* Experience with risk management; Identification, Assessment and Mitigation planning and execution
* Experience writing technical papers/analyses and developing/presenting technical presentations
* Must have demonstrated successful team/relationship building skills across multiple organizational boundaries and demonstrated ability to effectively interface with upper levels of management
* Experience in technical planning

Desired skills
*Major technical reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR etc.) experience
*Experience preparing program technical position memos that will be forwarded to the government customer
* Electrical Engineering experience and/or degree
*Model based engineering experience
* Familiarity with development of physical and analytical models
*Ability to make objective decisions from diverse input and opinions
*Experience with requirements tools (e.g. DOORS)
*Experience leading/working on cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.
*Fleet Ballistic Missile experience
*Familiarity with Navy SSP customer
*Task planning and closure oriented
