This position is with the historic Skunk Works, located in Palmdale, CA, providing program systems engineering support with a focus in Airworthiness.

The preferred candidate will have experience across the spectrum of systems engineering activities but with an emphasis on airworthiness and airworthiness certification. Will be coordinating all AWC activities, including bidding, planning and executing the Statements of Work, as well as serving as the technical and management liaison for AWC. Primary responsibilities are to generate and manage data products required to achieve AWC, including the AWC Program Plan, Tailored / Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria, and USAF compliance verification documents, and risk assessments. Additional responsibilities include establishing milestones and monitoring adherence to AWC master plans and schedules and identifying and resolving programmatic issues. Work with System Safety personnel to develop Non-Compliance Risk Assessments to ensure non-compliant criteria are mitigated in accordance with Customer requirements

A strong background in systems engineering to include requirements definition, decomposition, tracking, verification and validation, risk management, trade study design and proposal support is also highly desired. In this position, the candidate will be called on to participate in general systems engineering support as well

Must be a US citizen. This position requires special access and a Secret security clearance

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or above degree from an accredited college in a technical, scientific or engineering discipline
Experience with Systems Engineering
Experience with Air Worthiness Processes

Desired skills
Experience with MIL-HDBK-516 or FAA equivalent for Airworthiness
Good written and verbal communication with experience in writing support plans
Understanding of the aircraft Systems Engineering, civil and military Certification lifecycles
Familiarity with major aircraft subsystems, and associated regulations
Experience with Requirements Generation and/or Decomposition
Ability to work with different engineering disciplines to derive and decompose Requirements
