The Systems Engineer Senior Manager for Communication Space will lead the systems engineering team to execute the activities required to deliver and certify A2100 commercial spacecraft for flight, deliver ground products, execute transfer orbit missions, and provide in-orbit support. They will ensure the programs meets customer requirements, in support of the Chief Engineer, and Enterprise requirements and needs, and ensures program compliance with Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company processes. The Senior Manager will work closely with the program team and will drive affordability, oversee system development and verification/validation, and coordinate activities with the Commercial Space Line of Business Chief Engineer
Roles and responsibilities include:
1.Define and facilitate systems integration and implementation of the systems engineering process on heritage Commercial Space programs
2.Serve as Systems Engineering point of contact across heritage Commercial Space
3.Perform personnel management activities for program technical personnel within the organization
5.Approve and track program engineering plans (e.g., Systems Engineering Processes, System Development Plan, Software Verification Plan, Configuration Management Plan, etc.)
6.Ensure that Specialty Engineering plans, processes, and requirements are addressed within the program (e.g., EMI/EMC, reliability, maintainability, and survivability, contamination)
7.Establish requirements, flow requirements and process down to systems, subsystems, hardware, software, and procedures
8.Manage the Sat Services Integrated Product Team activities including ground deliverables to customers, maintenance of ASOC, Alpha and Uralla.
9.Ensure technical baseline control including chairing the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Qualification Review Board (QRB)
10.Establish the appropriate technical control boards (e.g., mass properties, power, and reliability)
11. Manage the Customer Response Center with responsibilities to provide in orbit support to active customers
12.Establish and lead the Risk and Opportunity Management Program (ROMP)
13.Act as the program interface with Independent Review Boards
14. Ensure that the engineering lessons learned are properly recorded and approved through the lessons learned process, including the Engineering Corrective Action Board (ECAB)
15. Work with the Line of Business/Program Executive Certified Principal Engineer (ECPE), and Line of Business Chief Engineer when requested, to ensure CPE appeals and other product issues (e.g., failure investigations, anomaly investigations, and product certification problems) are properly heard and resolved
16. Act as the focal point between the program and the LM systems functional organization
17. Develop and facilitate use of common products and reuse between all programs utilizing the A2100 platform

Basic Qualifications
1. Experience with A2100 design or commercial communication spacecraft experience, development, integration and/or test
2. Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors
3. Demonstrated proficiency indicating a comprehensive understanding of relevant Chief Systems Engineer (CSE) functions, responsibilities and technical domain
4. Extensive knowledge and application of the system engineering process, including risk management, system architecture, requirement development, requirements verification and validation, subsystem and system integration, mission operations, and/or baseline control
5. Program leadership, including a demonstrated capability to lead a systems or subsystems team and other leaders
6. Demonstrated ability to balance risks across the spacecraft system design to meet cost and schedule requirements

Desired skills
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
2. Excellent interpersonal skills with peers, superiors, subordinates, and customers
3. A minimum of 10 years experience with development, test, launch, and operations for an A2100 program
4. Demonstrated knowledge of program management, including budget control, planning, control account management, staffing, and resource utilization evidenced through roles as a CAM on past programs
5. Demonstrated adherence to high ethical standards and conduct
