Job Details

Lead the Missile Defense Engineering Team - Industry (MET-I) System Concepts & Requirements (SCR) Team. Team consists of 55-60 engineers with multiple skill sets and domain expertise across large scale analysis and performance requirements development. Role consists of:
- Analyze and assess Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) performance enhancement concepts using a large scale medium fidelty model of the BMDS
- Develop accurate, explainable, and justifiable performance requirements to be incorporated as updates to the BMDS Specification
- Responsible for meeting cost/schedule/performance constraints for each Specification Change Notice (SCN) task order assigned to the team
- Respond rapidly and effectively to priority changes driven by MDA leadership, up to and including the MDA Director
Reports to a senior MET-I prime contractor leader
Regularly interacts with senior government technical leaders and SES level MDA leadership
Regularly briefs the MDA Director for Engineering and/or his deputy

Basic Qualifications
Individual must have a technical background in statistical M&S and have led teams performing algorithm development using MATLAB or similar language environment. Must have a good understanding of Integrated Discrimination and how the BMDS works from the perspective of sensors (RF/Radar and EO/IR), missiles/interceptors/kill vehicles, threats (lethal and non-lethal), detection/tracking, as well as some understanding of Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.). Experience in Systems Engineering, especially in design synthesis and requirements development are necessary. Experience analyzing complicated physics problems using medium- to high-fidelity parametric models/simulations utilizing Monte Carlo techniques to provide insight into performance capabilities of real-world weapon systems is necessary. An understanding of multivariate statistical analysis, data mining, data fusion, and regression testing are expected. Experience analyzing BMDS and leading analysis or M&S teams is necessary. Experience performing trade studies and analysis of alternatives are expected. Individual must possess good communication skills and expect to interact with customers and subject matter experts frequently. Capable of working both independently and in a team environment

Desired skills
Experience in most or all of Ballistic missile defense system, Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threats. Electronic Attack and Electronic Protection experience. BMDS threat modeling. High Energy Laser analysis. Bistatic radar analysis. Image analysis. Pattern recognition. Demonstrated innovative problem solving. Knowledge of systems engineering process for the development of system performance requirements, objectives, evaluation criteria and analysis for BMDS Ground and Flight Test is a plus. Experience evaluating future technologies, assessing risks, technology and algorithm readiness are pluses. Individual with Interim Top Secret clearance will be considered if investigation has been in process and is nearing completion. TS/SCI
