Amyx is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a position located at Scott Air Force Base

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, development and implementation of specific computer systems’ needs.
  • Understand how the different departments in an organization need to function together. This requires collaboration and a natural adeptness for intricate design.
  • Articulate design concepts to PMO and wider audience about specific pieces of software.
  • Integrating, testing, evaluating and modifying systems.
  • Beyond designing new software, integrating different applications, such as business software and network control systems.
  • Creating reports that are thorough, detailed and able to be comprehended by PMO.
  • Translate between needs and actual applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in E.E or Computer Science/Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience in system engineering and support

  • Working knowledge of Java language, Java EE, and Agile development environment.

  • Solid experience or strong knowledge in design and development of Windows/UNIX/LINUX software and web applications that involves processes, tools and IDE’s, debugging, life cycle, security, and best practices.

  • Solid experiences or strong knowledge of various modern database development methodologies i.e. SQL/T-SQL, Oracle, SQL*Net, JDBC, etc.

  • Working knowledge of networking and security knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, router, switches, firewall, etc…)

  • Working knowledge of system monitoring, virtualization, and automation.

  • Solid experiences or strong knowledge of scripting.

  • Proven working experience in system and application integration, configuring and troubleshooting Windows/UNIX/LINUX.

  • Solid experiences in collaboration with other internal and external developer groups. Overseeing the development and providing technical directions to ensure security and engineering best practices are followed.
  • Must have IAT I certification to be considered

  • Must have an active clearance at the Secret level or higher.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience with DOD 5000.02 Acquisition Process
  • Experience with or knowledge of USTRANSCOM Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BI COE)
