Become an integral part of the Lockheed Martin Space (LMS) P220 team as we develop solutions for spacecraft systems/missions to address our customer’s most critical problems. This fast-paced program spans the entire life cycle from preliminary design through delivery on orbit, allowing you to apply your talents to directly influence the success of this important mission while experiencing all phases of a development space program. The P220 team environment is critical, and your ability to stretch yourself into new areas and contribute as a valued team member will be key to the success of this fixed-price effort.

In this role, you will lead the risk and opportunity management program, working with a wide variety of designers and subject matter experts to identify and mitigate risks and exploit opportunities. You will also support the planning for and manage the execution of Systems Engineering efforts throughout the program lifecycle. As a senior Systems Engineer, you will also be expected to interact with customers to translate mission needs into implementable solutions. The successful candidate will have comprehensive and diverse systems engineering experience from different facets and customers within the aerospace industry, and have demonstrated the willingness and ability to take on a broad set of technical and programmatic challenges

*** This position is contingent upon the anticipated proposal win and subsequent contract award for the Special Programs Line of Business. Contract Award anticipated for early summer 2018. ***

** Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level clearance is a requirement for this position. **

Basic Qualifications
• Comprehensive experience across the full development lifecycle of aerospace or defense programs
• Space-based ISR or space superiority program experience
• Working knowledge of risk and opportunity management processes
• Project planning and Integrated Master Schedule management experience
• Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain/maintain SCI

Desired skills
• Experience translating concept of operations into system architecture and requirements
• Model Based Systems Engineering experience
• Experience managing system-level lifecycle milestone reviews
• Root cause analysis or quality function deployment experience
• Strong presentation skills
• Active TS/SCI clearance
