Modeling and simulation developer and analyst for concept exploration, system design, and cyber threat studies. In this role, engineers will perform research on current and future systems based on information received from customers. Implement new features and capabilities in software models, perform verification and test of software models, translate real-word events into simulated scenarios, design and conduct experiments, and evaluate effectiveness of the system under test. Use various mathematical analysis tools and techniques to determine validity of results and effectiveness of the system built. Use analysis of data to derive new system configurations, elements, and uses. Work in a collaborative team environment to learn and share information. Effectively present and communicate results to internal and external customers

•Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

•Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept exploration, preliminary & critical design, detailed test & evaluation, installation, operation, maintenance.

•Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

•Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

•Conduct briefings at internal (In-depths, Stakeholder reviews and Risk Review Board meetings) and external (Program Reviews) events

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, physics, math, or other related field

•Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in problem solving and displays analytical thinking techniques. Ability to decompose a problem and devise alternate solutions or methods for investigation

•Proficiency with the Object Oriented languages, including Java and C++ programming language is required.

•Proficiency with Linux and UNIX is required

•Proficiency in data analysis, design of experiments and statistical methods

•Ability to provide technical oversight and coordination among a project team

•Ability to plan tasks to meet constraints of cost and schedule

Desired skills
• Understanding of cyber warfare and experiencing with cyber threat analysis

• Ability to support cyber simulation development and perform threat assessment

• Ability to examine host/network security from a holistic view, including threat modeling, specifications, implementation, testing, and vulnerability assessment

• Deep understanding of how network components work (e.g. firewalls, routers and switches, etc.) is strongly preferred

• Proficiency in evaluating and designing systems and network architectures

• Prior experience in IDS/IPS, penetration and vulnerability testing is desired but not required

•Ability to work with other engineers, whether peers or juniors, in a technical task

•Strong oral and written communication skills

•Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

•Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal direction and oversight

•Demonstrated ability as team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with multiple customers

•Demonstrated ability to effectively manage change, identify issues, work with stakeholders to develop solutions

• Prior experience in network or cyber simulation is desired but not required
