LM SSC Mission Solutions line of business delivers advanced systems, solutions and services to Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and international customers worldwide. Focus areas include cyber solutions, satellite ground operations, C4ISR, geospatial solutions, enterprise IT, and critical infrastructure

Manager of systems and security engineering group responsible for functional and technical leadership for systems engineering, security engineering, and master schedule management functions on the program. Key responsibilities include schedule management for engineering activities, providing technical oversight and leadership on systems and security engineering functions, workload assignments and balancing, staffing, budget management, and customer communication with respect to status and recommendations on engineering activities. The manager is responsible for all Human Resource elements including staffing (ensuring right-sized and appropriate skills to address current and projected program needs); employee performance planning and evaluation; employee development; employee compensation and recognition. The manager is the owner for all engineering activity associated with cross functional program projects. Additionally, the selected candidate will manage/oversee the control accounts, schedule/cost/technical risks, system architecture definition/implementation, requirements development and management, system design, integration, verification, and oversees the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the engineering life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications products. This position requires interaction with Program Management, Chief Engineer, Test Director, Architects, Engineering Project Managers, suppliers and customers

Basic Qualifications
Technical leadership experience in all phases of the systems life cycle including: requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, qualification, deployment, and operational support.

Project management experience including schedule management, risk management, project execution and deployment

Must have technical proposal experience coupled with sound estimation skills, development of integrated schedules and then performing and monitoring progress against them. Background should include strong team leadership, administrative, communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

Previous Engineering Management/Leadership experience is required

Organized self-starter, with a proven ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Ability to inspire collaboration, confidence, and motivation of a team in stressful and dynamic environments.

Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership (Shape the Future, Build Effective Relationships, Energize the Team, Deliver Results, Model Personal Excellence, Integrity and Accountability)

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Desired skills
PMP certification

Experience as a cost account manager

Education or experience in RF engineering

Experience in the design/development of Windows based information systems

COTS product integration experience
