Job Details

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Systems Engineer with remote voice communications experience to research, architect, design, build, test and document current and prototype VOIP communications systems. Areas covered include, but are not limited to, the radio hardware, software development toolsets, and encryption capabilities and keys. Candidate will provide full life cycle systems engineering support including new product idea/development, requirements analysis and derivation, systems design, integration, training, testing, and system verification activities. The candidate will thoroughly test and validate the system during the entire product development phase, identifying defects, proposing solutions, and verifying implemented solutions to ensure a quality product is delivered.

Duties include:
• Research the current voice communications designs, hardware, footprint and software. Work with LM engineers and customer to identify and address issues and failures.
• Lead the design, architecture, and build of a prototype system designed to consolidate equipment, reduce the footprint, and eliminate legacy custom hardware and software with combined COTS and/or GOTS products. This system will include encryption hardware, software and keys as required. Use the prototype to verify design, requirements and capabilities of the system.
• Develop a specification and capability for voice communication-related requirements including size / weight / power, with analysis, mission ConOps, and transmit capabilities to include site to remote, remote to site, site to site, and intra-site communication.

Some travel will be required

Basic Qualifications
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Ability to work well in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Candidate must have experience in the following capabilities:
Hardware System Architecture
Hardware Subsystem Design
Hardware Integration and Test
Field-Deployable Hardware
Experience with voice communications systems
• System integration testing

Desired skills
• Prior experience and familiarity with DoD programs
• Hardware Field Support
• Experience with creating presentation charts and general status reports, and delivering presentations to internal and external customers
• Understanding of a system that uses voice communications in a hub and spoke architecture providing failover, redundancy, and dynamic configuration updates
• Experience with PRC-117G Integration
