Job Details

1. Perform systems engineering and integration duties on the Orion program - next manned spacecraft. Duties include support to the electrical, data and software integration team within the Orion Systems Engineering Integration and Test Organization (SEIT).
2. This position works with the system analysts & instrumentation teams to develop the master measurement list (MML) for the developmental flight instrumentation (DFI) and ground test instrumentation (GTI). The systems engineer works with the harnessing, Assembly Test and Launch Operations (ATLO) and mechanical integration teams to develop strategies for integration and harness routing for instrumentation on the vehicle. The systems engineer is responsible for the MML for the DFI and GTI and the channelization of the DFI and they facilitate bringing changes to the MML and Channelization through the engineering review board processes.
3. Opportunity for learning the craft of problem investigations: root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
4. Individual should have the ability to clearly communicate to all levels of management, and work well in a team environment. Individual needs to be self-motivated and be able to determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results

Basic Qualifications
1. Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related degree
2. Able to work effectively in a fast paced diverse team environment
3. Demonstrated ability to act independently and work collaboratively to uncover and resolve issues associated with a development program
4. Demonstrated strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills with both internal and external team members
5. Possess high energy level, sense of urgency, decisiveness, strong work ethic and an ability to work well under pressure
6. Planning and organizational skills

Desired skills
1. Human spaceflight experience a plus
2. Electrical compatibility analysis experience a plus
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
5. Knowledge/experience with spacecraft subsystems and spacecraft operations
