The successful candidate will support Guidance Navigation and Control (GN&C) subsystem mission operations for the OSIRIS-REx mission. The selected candidate will perform GN&C functional analyses for day-to-day spacecraft operations as well as long-term subsystem trending and instrument calibrations. Weekly reporting/presentation of results to management and the customer is required, as well as anomaly resolution, and support of special studies. The successful candidate should be experienced with spacecraft GN&C modeling and simulation, analysis, and testing. The selected candidate will work with senior GN&C personnel, subject matter experts, GN&C hardware engineers, and other mission operations personnel. The candidate should be familiar with GN&C analytical tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, and STK. Experience with the use of Linux/Unix operating systems is desirable

Basic Qualifications
- BS or MS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Software, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university/college or related degree

- Candidate must have familiarity with supporting design and/or development of algorithms for GN&C (Guidance, Navigation & Control) or Orbital Dynamics systems and must have an understanding of the mathematics and physics governing spacecraft dynamics

- Some programming experience desired in languages such as C, C++ or similar

Desired skills
- Knowledge of spacecraft dynamics, spacecraft environment, sensors, actuators, and control systems
- Some programming experience and familiarity with analytical software tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and C++
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating environment
- Experience developing and using procedural documents
- Basic systems engineering understanding of a spacecraft and spacecraft operations (GN&C modes, safe mode, momentum desaturation, delta-v, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team
