This is an opportunity to work on the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS) System Engineering team. L&TS a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of systems integration and test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues

This position is for a System Integration Lead Engineer to work on the F-35 RC-West (Reprogramming Center West) Project. The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the RC-West system integration team’s planning, system integration and verification activities that are necessary to successfully complete milestones leading up to the full verification, validation and delivery of the NIRL product capabilities to our customers

The system integration activities include providing technical oversight for: System Integration Planning, System Integration execution, participation in System Requirements Reviews, participant in Supplier Technical Reviews, System Configuration Management Controls, System Requirements Verification, System Performance Validation, and onsite installation & acceptance testing, and onsite System Integration Support of the NIRL system. The onsite responsibility will involve significant travel to Point Mugu Naval Base in California at various points in the development process.

This position will require close coordination with RC-West Project Leadership and with F-35 Joint Program Office (JPO) representatives, plus proactive engagement with L&TS simulation software, subsystem procurement, hardware development teams, and other teams both inside and outside LM Aeronautics, to ensure an effective system engineering communication interface is established and maintained across the different RC-West subsystems development teams.

This position will provide technical support and advice to the laboratory development staff to support integration, operation, and upgrades to the NIRL system.

This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided

Basic Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. -Active secret clearance required to start

-Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university
-Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of System Engineering practices in performing system integration planning and execution, system requirements verification on complex aircraft simulation systems.
- Experience in development of avionics hardware in-the-loop simulation systems
- Experience in functional and interface knowledge in one or more of the following: avionics simulations, avionics sensors, such as radar, electronic warfare, CNI, or IR subsystems

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires a Secret security clearance to start, with a current background investigation

Desired skills
-Degrees preferred: Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,
- Familiarity with F-35 Mission Systems Architecture and subsystems.
- Experience in development of System Requirements and Allocation to subsystems
- Experience in development of detail System Design
- Working knowledge regarding military threat analysis.
- Experience in development and execution of System Test Procedures
- Experience in delivering products to external customers
- Demonstrated experience in detail planning (estimating, task scheduling using MS Project)
- Working knowledge of EVMS and implications to project decision making
- Strong technical leadership

- Strong planning skills to include logical task structure, estimating, etc
