This is an opportunity to work on the Labs and Tech Services (L&TS) System Engineering team. L&TS a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery. Within L&TS resides an extensive collection of systems integration and test capabilities, including low-cost rapid prototyping concept development systems, full-dome handling qualities simulations, high-fidelity multi-ship, real-time, man-in-the-loop simulation systems, Reprogramming Laboratories, and hardware-in-the-loop mission systems and vehicle systems integration venues

This is a System Engineering position to work on the F-35 NIRL (Norwegian and Italy Reprogramming Laboratory) Project. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform as a member of the NIRL system integration team’s planning, system integration and verification activities that are necessary to successfully complete milestones leading up to the full verification, validation and delivery of the NIRL product capabilities to our customers

The system integration activities include providing technical expertise for: System Integration execution, participation in System Requirements Reviews, participant in Supplier Technical Reviews, System Configuration Management Controls, System Requirements Verification, System Performance Validation, and onsite installation, setup and acceptance testing of the NIRL system

This position will require close coordination with NIRL Project and Technical Leadership, plus proactive engagement with L&TS simulation software, subsystem procurement, hardware development teams, and other teams both inside and outside LM Aeronautics, to ensure an effective system engineering communication interface is maintained across the different NIRL subsystems development teams.

This position’s physical work location will be split between Fort Worth, Texas and Eglin Air Force Base located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The work performed at Eglin Air Force base will be performed under the Extended Duty (EDY) polices for a duration of approximately 18 months, beginning second quarter 2018. Upon completion of the EDY assignment, this position will return to Fort Worth

This position may require unique program security clearances that will be initiated upon selection and acceptance in filling this position. Final approval of these security clearances is dependent upon the Department of Defense (DoD) and could take an extensive amount of time to be granted. During this waiting period, the work assignments directly related to this position will be limited. Therefore, auxiliary organization work assignments will be provided

Basic Qualifications
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. This position requires a Secret security clearance to start, with a current background investigation

Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university

Experience in performing system engineering tasks such as: requirements development, system design development, system integration and verification
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

Desired skills
-Degrees preferred: Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics

Experience in one or more of the following: aerospace, aviation, avionics, simulation, system integration
Knowledgeable using the following Tools DOORS, MatLab, SysML
Experience working in a Laboratory environment
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Completed system security certification training courses
Candidate has familiarity with F-35 Mission Systems Architecture and subsystems, DOORS requirements management tool, and system performance analysis and validation. Has a demonstrated software or hardware development experience
