Job Details

Seeking candidate that has a strong academic background in physics, electrical, optics, and systems coupled with a high motivation to learn and tackle challenging problems. Candidate should have a strong understanding of fundamental science and engineering concepts such as: Visible and Infrared Electro-Magnetic energy, wave propagation, diffraction, atmospheric effects, optical design, and analytical methods. Specific tasks will include: defining requirements and implementation of XR; defining requirements and implementation of auto-boresight; addressing vendor analyses, spec work, and support for color camera optic and midwave optic assemblies; SWIR image processing performance, and potential proposal inputs.Desired masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or Physics. Strong mathematical and analytical skills is a must with interest in and ability to understand and use analysis tools and approaches to Electro-Optics targeting and navigation systems, sensor range predicton, imaging sensors technology, detector physics, laser designation, and image signal processing and algorithm development. Candidate will be expected to tackle many diverse assignments to support programs throughout the company. Algorithm development and data analysis with Matlab a plus. Strong individual ownership of task assignment is desired as well as team collaboration and participation

Basic Qualifications
An Electro-Optical (EO) engineer performs design and analysis of EO candidate systems for both ground and airborne sensor suite applications. Starting with target/threat signatures in the optical/IR realm, the EO engineer performs trade studies and system verification analyses to optimize candidate system performance, cost, size and weight. Models and design solutions are fabricated for laboratory test and characterization prior to development of system prototypes for further verification testing. EO systems consisting of advanced optical/infrared material and coatings, state of the art sensors, and advanced laser systems are employed to achieve desired system level performance when integrated system level tower and field testing is accomplished

Desired skills
Experience with Code V, MATLAB and MODTRAN is desired
