Job Details

Performs system integration, technical planning, problem investigation, and performance evaluation for the D5 Missile System in support of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Production and Deployed System Support (P&DSS) Program. Supports root cause analysis and corrective action identification for missile hardware/operational issues discovered with deployed assets onboard SSBNs or involved in handling operations at the Strategic Weapons Facilities (SWFs). Supports analysis and provides interpretation of missile and support equipment requirements to ensure safety, reliability, and readiness of the D5 Missile System is are maintained. Participates in flight test preparation activities and provides onsite systems engineering support during In-Tube Conversion (ITC) operations. Coordinates responses to technical systems engineering issues with stakeholder FBM organizations located across all program sites. Prepares presentations and technical briefings in support of other FBM customers and contractor organizations. Maintains close relationship with US Navy customer to ensure customer needs are fulfilled. Must be willing to travel.

* Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
* This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen

Basic Qualifications
Engineering Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical or other related discipline

Systems Experience with full product level or complex systems, etc.

Experience or coursework of systems engineering principles involved in operations support and integration efforts (procedures, requirements, performance evaluation, problem investigation, cross organizational integration, etc.).

Experience or coursework with electronic hardware packages and their interactions at the system or subsystem level.

This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen

Desired skills
Electrical Engineering background preferred

Experience troubleshooting complex electrical/mechanical systems (weapon systems or related support equipment)

Experience interfacing with government customers on technical and programmatic levels

Familiarity with the FBM program, specifically Trident II D5 Missile Operations and Procedures.

Familiarity with the organizational structure of the Navy Customer.

Experience in interfacing with the FBM Program Office and knowledge of official government/contractor communications

Knowledge of D5 Missile subsystems and hardware assemblies
