Job Details

Engineering position for the operations and maintenance of a large scale RF Communication’s system operating 24x7. Will be part of a multi-contractor team of hardware and system engineers located at a overseas continental location. Position requires a 2yr commitment on site beginning upon initial relocation approximately July 2017, with possible travel to other continental locations required prior to that date. Selectee will possibly perform pre-deployment training and preparation at several Washington, DC area LM programs. Primary responsibility will be to provide Operations and Maintenance support across multiple large, integrated, complex hardware-software communications system in a real-time environment and on a 24/7 shift basis. Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance support across multiple external interfaces over a robust multi-tiered network. Daily activities may include, but are not limited to, discrepancy report generation, work off and resolution, Operations & Maintenance training/mentoring, trending, procedure development, data collection, fault isolation, and performing real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities. Will assist contractor and customer meetings by attending and participating. The development of troubleshooting/recovery plans and execution of associated management and customer briefs may also be required. Participation in corrective maintenance will require remove/replace, repair, and testing failed hardware. Candidate will work closely with on site hardware engineers to provide support for discrepancy work off, installation efforts, and special test configurations. Performance of maintenance activities will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, and working in non-environment-controlled work spaces. Strict adherence to all applicable administrative, safety and security policies is required. Dependent on candidate's specific background, he/she will be required to perform 24x7 shiftwork as part of pre-deployment training and readiness, and ultimately will be assigned to a 24x7 rotating position on site as part of normal working hours. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- 2+ years technical experience with RF communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware systems, including wideband applications
- 2+ years experience with customer-built and COTs-based high speed networks, IT systems, and real-time software applications supporting communications systems
- Active TS/SCI clearance required, but will consider an Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI

Desired skills
- Prior military electronics and/or satellite communications training/experience
- Experience in Information Assurance concepts
- Information Technology certifications such as Security+, Network+, A+
- Experience with microprocessor and FPGA applications
- Experience with working with various types of test equipment to include power meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum, and network analyzers
- Knowledge of network management, TCP/ICP, Cisco IOS, VMware, scripting, Windows 7, and Microsoft software products
- Knowledge and experience with facility support systems for RF ground terminal systems (power, HVAC, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proactive and positive team player with ability to effectively work closely with co-contractor teammates at multiple levels
