The MITRE International Operations Department is seeking an entry-level engineer with knowledge and interest in one of the following areas: systems engineering, modeling and simulation or integration and test in support of USA and partner nation projects. MITRE is collaborating with the Department of Defense (DoD) sponsors, particularly the United States Air Force (USAF) and foreign partner nations to improve joint national security through modernizing defense capabilities and improving USA and partner nation interoperability.  The selected individual will be responsible for helping to develop technical solutions in support of our coalition partners whether that be executing a wargame experiment, developing test requirements, or creating customized solutions. To that end, the individual will be working with both experienced MITRE engineers and also with government representatives, as needed.


This work is a critical segment of the departments work program whose key technical concentration areas include trade space analysis, requirements generation and assessments, and foreign system consultations all grounded in strong systems engineering fundamentals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies to ever changing problems.

  • Expertise in fundamental concepts and principles of systems engineering.

  • Ability to work independently and represent our DoD customers interests

  • Ability to thrive in a diverse team environment consisting of MITRE colleagues, government sponsors, industry contractors, and international customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure working in an international environment

Minimum Qualifications:

BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering or related field
