The Lockheed Martin Owego (New York) Systems Engineering team is looking for a candidate with Systems Engineering education to join our team. The selected individual will work as part of a dynamic Systems Engineering team supporting systems integration activities for military aircraft platforms. The candidate will thoroughly test and validate multiple platform systems throughout multiple phases of the product development phase, identifying defects, proposing solutions, and verifying implemented solutions to ensure a quality product is delivered. The Systems Engineer/Test Engineer will develop and execute verification and validation test plans and procedures, prepare and assess the system readiness, provide test data for analysis, and conduct briefs/debriefs with the customer.

The Systems Engineer/Test Engineer candidate must be able to support design, development and execution of integration and test plan/procedures to verify and validate various simulator configurations, functionality, and capabilities. The candidate must have knowledge in test methodology, systems integration, and requirements verification/validation. The candidate must have basic knowledge of simulation system concepts, configuration, integration, test, and trouble shooting.

Activities and responsibilities will include interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines (hardware, software and specialty engineering) as well as equipment suppliers, supporting requirements definition and decomposition, developing software requirement specifications, and other design artifacts/activities for the successful integration of avionics subsystems onto fixed or rotary wing aircraft platforms. Predominant test systems and platforms are Windows based with some Unix O/S. The systems are predominantly Off the Shelf systems that are then configured for the needs of the customer
Owego, New York is located about 200 miles northwest of New York City and about 75 miles south of Syracuse New York. Owego sits just north of the border with Pennsylvania and is part of what's known as the Southern Tier" section of New York State. The region is home to Binghamton University and Cornell University. Niagara Falls, NYC, & Philadelphia are all within a few hours’ drive from Owego. Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 2 years of professional experience; or no professional experience with a related Masters degree.
- Experience with / Education of hardware/software integration
- Experience with / Education of test procedure development and execution
- Experience with / Education of requirements verification
- Experience with / Education of system validation
- Strong planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Desired skills
Experience with MIL-STD-1553, and/or familiarity and experience with any of the following systems: stores management, electronic warfare, EO/IR sensors, radar, acoustics, data links, military communications, or man-machine interface/human factors.

Familiarity or experience with agile development

Familiarity with Lockheed Martin systems development life-cycle and the Lockheed Martin processes, systems engineer and integration and test
