Job Details

This is a position for an F-35 Systems Engineering Functional Manager for the Maintenance Hardware Device Team. This manager has responsibility for approximately 15 systems engineers who work on a variety of trainers provided by suppliers. Integration is performed at customer sites and in the field

The team performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. The manager is expected to act as a coach and a mentor to the team, to review workproducts, to assist in establishing measures and ensure the team is following proven systems engineering processes

The manager is responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Although this job is posted as a first-shift position, occasional shift work and overtime may be required to meet the needs of the program. In addition, occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites may be required

Basic Qualifications
A BS degree with a major in Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics from an accredited college or university

Proven performance as a systems engineer with a minimum of 14 years of experience in Requirements Analysis, Systems Design, Integration and Test and/or a related Systems Engineering discipline

Prior experience working in a production and/or a deployment environment

Proven performance as a team leader working on a complex development effort

Must have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Must be willing to work occasional shift work and overtime to meet the needs of the program. In addition, occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites may be required

Desired skills
A Masters Degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, or Management

Domain knowledge working on aircraft vehicles, pilot training devices, maintenance training devices, simulators, classroom trainers, and/or mission critical systems

Experience as a functional manager leading a group of at least 10 people

Systems Engineering Certification

Experience In production and deployment of hardware systems

Experience working with classified systems in a lab environment
