Job Details

Naval Architect or Marine Engineer responsible for vessel design, structural design and analysis, stability analysis, regulatory analysis and other naval architecture and mechanical engineering services on a variety of Littoral Ship Systems programs. Tasks shall include but not be limited to technical responsibility and oversight of (1) Ship intact and damage stability calculations, (2) Ship V-Line evaluations, development and support of ship inclining events, (3) Ship speed, range and powering calculations, including tow tank test support, (4) Ship hull, scantlings and superstructures design, and (5) General arrangement and machinery layout design

Basic Qualifications
• A degree in Naval Architecture. Additional degree(s) in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or closely related technical field considered a plus
• Five (5) years’ experience in ship equipment integration, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering experience
• Knowledge of Naval Vessels, ABS and HSNC Rules
• Knowledge of computer design and analysis tools, especially PRO/E CREO, AutoCAD, NASTRAN and ANSYS
• Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office applications

Desired skills
• Naval Architecture experience with Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) or similar vessels
• Experience working with US Navy tech warrant holders on Naval Architecture
• Experience in reading and comprehending ship systems mechanical drawings and work specifications
• Working experience with NAVISWORKS or ShipConstructor tools
• Experience in planning and execution of ship construction, maintenance and modernization processes
• Working in a design for manufacturing environment
• Able to work with general direction and have strong verbal and written communications skills
