Engineering Architect for the Air-5428 program. The Architect will be responsible for:
• Update and maintain the Flight Training Device (FTD) Systems Architecture
• Update and maintain the Learning Environment (LE) Systems Architecture
• Update, manage and maintain the Capital rigs, which include computational systems, needed to support the project
• Communicate and Implement design updates based on architectural changes to the Engineering team
• Implement the Air Traffic Control architecture and interface in the Flight Training Device
• Design and integrate video and audio for the Flight Training Device and Learning Environment
• Ensure all internal and external interfaces for the Flight Training Device and Learning Environment are designed
• Ensure the Heads Up Display (HUD) is projected clearly on the Out the Window (OTW) based on architectural design and interface
• Ensure overall technical integrity of the delivered products
• Ensure that program Engineering and Technology processes and procedures are defined and followed
• Define the cables and wires to interconnect the subsystems
• Update architecture designs based on Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Contract Change Proposals (CCPs)
• Support the Chief Engineer on a daily basis
• Support Hardware, Software and Systems Leads
• Participate in the System Engineering Integration Team (SEIT), Flight Training Device and LE Integrated Product Team (IPT), Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB)
• Update and maintain the Mission System level Interface Control Document (ICD), a program deliverable
• Support the Operation Manuals based on the System Architecture and Interfaces



Basic Qualifications
• 15+ years of engineering experience including design, integration and program execution experience. This experience must include program planning, cost, schedule, performance, risks and working with subcontractors.
• Technical background associated with aircraft system architectures (including avionics, navigation, and Mission Systems) systems integration
• Technical background associated with flight trainer stimulation and simulation
• Demonstrated experience in complex system architecture, analysis and design
• Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, and systems engineering principles
• Integration experience of multiple subsystems, including COTS products

• Knowledge of computational systems and configurations of video cards and data path cards
• Experience working Virtual Machines and networking
• Experience working with Pilots
• Experience working with major subcontractors
• Experience working Visual System Displays, Image Generators and Heads Up Display (HUD) projection
• Ability to brief senior level customers and management with credibility
• Ability to use strategic thinking to write compelling proposals, white papers and customer value propositions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Desired skills
• Experience with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) phraseology and/or Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) phraseology
• Cost and Schedule management experience
• CAM experience
