Job Details

Develop quantitative risk analyses by evaluating the impact of design, manufacturing, maintenance, and operations on the probability of flight mishaps. Review and approve Flight Safety Part (FSP) design, manufacturing, and supplier changes.

Lead multi-disciplinary teams to synthesize technical and operational information including: failure history, part utilization, affected population, overhaul procedures, material and manufacturing variability, inspection reliability, damage initiation & degradation data, and flight crew response. If critical data is not available, develop technical assumptions based on system/component function and identify analyses or tests to develop supporting data. Lead teams in establishing corrective action plans such as: inspections, revisions to aircraft manuals, replacement of suspect components, and manufacturing changes or redesigns. Conduct corrective action trade studies based on effectiveness, timeliness, and availability of company and operator resources. Monitor field experience to ensure that corrective actions are effective and apply lessons learned to other in-service and development programs.

Review and approve FSP design changes considering: part function and fit, manufacturability, inspectability, and effects of dimensional and assembly variability on integrity. Lead Critical Characteristic (CC) Review Board reviews to ensure that CC changes are correctly identified and incorporated into drawings and process plans. Lead Engineering Source Change Board reviews to ensure that suitable qualification requirements are in place for supplier changes or manufacturing process changes. Write reports for program FSP contractual requirements, support investigations of FSP process escapes, and provide formal training to Sikorsky and supplier engineers

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

Minimum of 7 years in more than one of the following areas: design, analysis, test, system safety engineering, reliability, failure analysis, system engineering and airworthiness certification

Desired skills
Ideal candidate will be familiar with system requirements, engineering drawings, manufacturing process plans, test and failure analysis reports, statistical analyses, and the Sikorsky Flight Safety Part program. Must be able to lead multi-disciplinary Engineering teams and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
