Job Details

This position is located in Denver and supports the Air Force Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Program. This System Safety Engineer Stf position supports the overall Weapons Systems Engineering Integration and Test (WSEIT) Team by providing System Safety Engineering support per MIL-STD-882E. The selected candidate will generate the System Safety Program Plan (SSPP), Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), preliminary Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), and preliminary Safety Analysis Report (SAR) covering hardware, software and operational hazards. In addition, the selected candidate will support System Safety Working Groups as well as Explosive Hazard Classification and Ordnance Disposal tasks. This position will support all Systems Engineering Life Cycle reviews (SRR, SFR, 9QTIM, and PDR) as required. This position will start in September of 2017, and is contingent upon the GBSD TMRR award in September of 2017

Basic Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with System Safety Engineering processes, requirements, and hazard analysis techniques
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 DoD System Safety Standard Practice
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and teamwork with internal and external customers
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
- Active Secret Clearance

Desired skills
- Experience with US Air Force Weapon Systems Programs, US Strategic Systems, or Missile Weapons Systems
- Experience with USAF Minuteman III acquisition and sustainment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members
- Effectively manage change
