Job Details

Writing, reviewing, and performing test procedures associated with ordnance devices and operations as well as other hazardous testing operations. Safely handling a wide variety of explosives and ordnance devices including supervision and training of ordnance handlers/technicians. Translate program mechanical and electrical engineering drawings into work instructions to successfully integrate ordnance devices into deliverable products. Installing and electrically integrating ordnance devices into deliverable products ensuring 100% mission success of these systems and subsystems. Maintain all LMSSC Denver ordnance facilities, equipment, and vehicles to the requirements of Federal, State, and LMSSC requirements. Maintain all required Federal (BATFE) and State explosives permits/licenses. Verify/maintain all ordnance inventory records to 100% accuracy. Provide budget and schedule estimates to program customers and track these throughout the performance of the work. Provide technical support to programs for all issues associated with the safe and legal handling and testing of ordnance materials

Basic Qualifications
Experience working with and handling explosives and ordnance devices. Understanding of the chemistry of explosive compounds and their interactions. Technical understanding of explosives and their application to aerospace products.
Must have experience reviewing engineering drawings and parts lists.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Have, or the ability to obtain, DoD Secret Clearance.
Ability to obtain BATFE Employee Possessor Clearance and State of Colorado Explosives Permit.
Have, or the ability to obtain, CTC certification

Desired skills
Experience with EPDM
Experience with installations of ordnance devices on space vehicles.
Experience testing explosive compounds and devices in various environments.
Firm grasp of regulatory requirements including Federal, military, and State/local requirements as they pertain to explosives and explosives operations
CTC certification preferred
Ability to use CAD software to analyze designs and create visual work instructions as required
