Job Details

Seeking a System Engineer to lead the integration and test activities associated on a Fire Control IRAD. The IRAD objective is to redesign a current multi-sensor electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) turreted system into a reduced height sensor system. The current system consists of a large-aperture mid-wave infrared (MWIR) sensor, color TV, laser designator/rangefinder and an on-gimbal inertial measurement unit integrated into a highly-stabilized turret. Candidate needs to provide technical experience and formulate and execute the integration and test plan with a cross functional team. The selected candidate will also need to flex Systems Engineering role between the front-end requirement definition process and into Systems Integration and Test The major tasks include: a. Flexing Systems Engineering role between the front-end requirement definition process and into Systems Integration and Test b. System Integration and Test Requirements, flow-down and analysis through DOORs c. Develop Testing concepts. d. Overall system integration and test of the complete technical solution. e. Development and execution of early risk mitigation testing f. Coordinate technical issue resolution with the Chief Engineer. g. Daily interaction and interface with cross functional disciplines. h. Support the Requirement Verification process with supporting artifacts

Requirements: • Candidate needs to have a strong technical background with proven technical problem-solving skills • Must be able to work in a collaborative manner to arrive at technical and non-technical solutions that support the overall objectives of the organization and customer requirements • Able to coordinate the integration of the total system solution and develop test concepts consistent with product requirements and customer considerations. • Well versed in the Systems Engineering process and principles and have thorough understanding of systems engineering practices and work products. • Demonstrated System Integration and Test experience of complete technical solution as well as individual components. • Demonstrated knowledge of requirements, ICDs and requirement verification • Demonstrated ability in generating high-quality test plans, procedures and requirements. • Experience in the failure analysis and corrective action process. • Experienced in preparing/planning/coordinating and leading Mission Success and Test Readiness Reviews • Exhibit strong written and verbal communications skills• Must be a self-starter, be team oriented, and capable of contributing in a fast paced, integrated product team environment. • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and generating Power Point presentations

Basic Qualifications
A Systems Integration Engineer verifies that testable hardware and software modules can be assembled and connected in a manner that achieves the overall system's physical, functional and performance requirements objectives. This responsibility applies to both newly designed developmental items and mature hardware coming off the assembly line. The design verification process is performed to a well- constructed Integration and Test plan derived from requirements generated in DOORS and associated ICD's which validates built-in system performance from the lowest level modules to the final assembled system.
Systems Integration Engineers must operate comfortably with all engineering disciplines including software engineers, designers, and production personnel. Interface with suppliers of modules and critical hardware vendors is an important associated activity. The ability to troubleshoot problems and coordinating other system integration participants is of great value in performing these duties. Broad system knowledge including an understanding of the subsystem hardware and software capabilities in servo control, sensor capabilities, emitter capability and permissions for use, intended application, and safety related issues are very important. Customer presentations including performance results and schedule status
A valuable capability for a Systems Integration Engineer is the ability to manage security issues including protection of classified hardware and software, software loading requirements and capabilities, and use and management of associated test equipment
Must have a minimum of an interim secret clearance prior to start

Desired skills
Experience with DOORS is of significant benefit.

In addition, the following capabilities will be valuable:

- Experience with Radar, GPS, GNC, Electro-optical sensors and laser designators.
- Working knowledge and understanding of System engineering tools (i.e.: Rhapsody, etc.)
- Familiarity with turreted Fire Control systems
- Prior experience working with the UAE customer / culture
