Description: This position is for a full time research faculty position in the Methods and Analysis Development Branch, part of the Systems Engineering Research Division. Our research group is predominantly focused on the research, development, and application of new systems engineering tools and methods for decision support, concept of employment analysis, systems architecting, and conceptual design for complex systems. We create systems models (both qualitative and quantitative) that aid our sponsors in the early stage of systems design to determine the best architecture to achieve a desired operational capability. In addition to systems design, we provide capability-based strategic decision making and portfolio planning expertise to aid a variety of customers in mapping their high level goals and objectives to a set of both feasible and viable, actionable alternatives.

Research Engineer I (REI) & Research Scientist I (RSI)

- A Bachelor's degree and  0-(3) years of relevant full-time experience

Research Engineer II (REII) & Research Scientist II (RSII)

- A Master’s degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree
- A Master’s degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
- A Doctoral degree.

Required Skills: strong background in science or engineering.  Proficient programming skills, preferably Python. Strong background in statistical analysis, (preferably an understanding of regression analysis, visual analytics, uncertainty quantification, design space exploration, etc.).

Other: Candidate must be a US citizen capable of holding a Secret DoD security clearance.
