Our Systems Engineer will apply systems thinking and technical expertise during the design and development of complex systems and enterprise solutions. You will help define the problem, environment, relevant dynamics and associated architectures, as well as contribute to business and system-level requirements and conceptual designs.

We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed early-career candidates with a wide variety of interests and a foundation in or a motivation to build technical skills with a focus on building models to enhance system engineering functions and understand how systems engineering tasks can be augmented with quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Preference given to candidates with current DoD clearance

Key Functions:
Provide technical assistance and hands on support for the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems and system-of-systems for federal agencies.

Our Systems Engineer will contribute to teams with expertise in one or more of the following technology and practice areas: Systems Engineering, Requirements engineering, Framing systems architecture as a series of decisions, which can be actively explored, sorted, managed, and optimized locally or globally.

Our Systems Engineer will cultivate and maintain a Systems Thinking perspective, being adept at or building proficiency in:

Multi Scale Abstraction: capable of both synthesis and analysis across scales (system and environment), and generalization and communication of mental models beyond the formal mathematical views.

Multi Scale Dynamics: using tools to elicit and represent mental models (variables, dynamics, feedback across scales), using formal models and simulations to test and improve mental models (variables, dynamics, feedback across scales)

Our SE will collaborate and participate in activities to ensure knowledge creation/sharing and integration within and across all work programs as appropriate. Candidate will support MITRE's efforts to develop work programs with new customers, and in some customer project activities such as assessments, position papers, and special studies. Candidate will help support internal activities to promote the advancement and application of model-based engineering, complex systems engineering, and systems assurance.

Required Qualifications:
Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical or IT degree

Preference given to candidate with current DoD clearance.

Relevant academic or industry experience using technical techniques, systems thinking and tools/techniques such as Vensim, Stella iThink, Anylogic, SystemiTool, Causal Loop Diagrams, Tableau, NVivo, CORE, Rhapsody, Excel,

Preferred Qualifications:
MS preferred, relevant internships a plus!
