Job Description

WIN Energy REMC, a progressive rural electric distribution cooperative with headquarters located in Vincennes, IN, has an opening for an entry level system electrical engineer or graduating engineering student for the Vincennes office. WIN Energy REMC serves over 16,500 meters across 2,600 miles of line in eight southern Indiana counties with the mission to “Provide safe reliable electric service at the best value to our member-owners while supporting the communities we serve”. The cooperative has 51 employees in three office locations with satellite offices in Princeton, IN and Sullivan, IN. WIN Energy REMC is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative and purchases its wholesale power supply from Hoosier Energy, REC, Inc.

This position requires a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent engineering field from a curriculum approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Additional specialized training in the electric utility system design, operation and evaluation are preferred. Experience utilizing practical application of skills with an electric distribution utility or related organization is preferred. Electric distribution power delivery preferred. Experience in computer applications and CAD mapping is beneficial.

Must be familiar with engineering fundamentals. Must be able to acquire knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), the National Electric Code (NEC), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Rural Utilities Service (RUS) construction specifications and other applicable codes and regulations. Essential to obtain an Engineering Intern (EI) Certification with a goal of acquiring a Professional Engineering License. Must have strong math skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and have proficient computer skills in a variety of applications. Must have above average knowledge of physics, science and mechanics.
