Job Details

The GFES Program (Ground & Flight Engineering Solutions) performs satellite launch processing operations, satellite factory assembly integration & test (AI&T) as well as ground support equipment operations & maintenance (O&M). The GFES Program seeks an experienced integration/test engineer to execute electronic and/or mechanical systems assembly & test and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of ground systems. This position will primarily support satellite assembly, integration & test (AI&T) production work at the Company's Sunnyvale and/or Denver campuses. In addition, there may be opportunities to perform satellite launch processing, ground support equipment operations & maintenance (O&M).

The candidate selected will provide the following System Integration and Test Engineering support for Space Systems Company processes and projects:

Develop test procedures & work instructions, plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems.

Act as test conductor for satellite assembly and test operations in factory high-bay environment.

Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints

Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem.

Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems.

Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations.

Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance.

Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems

The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Basic Qualifications
Must have working knowledge of flight hardware handling, processing, test planning, test preparations, execution, and participation in AI&T (assembly, integration & test) activities.

Experienced test conductor for high value flight hardware assembly, test or processing.

Experience writing test procedures and/or detailed work instructions.

Experience performing system test and development of vehicle ground processing requirements.

Experience with analysis of external interfaces, defined environmental test requirements, system test requirements, troubleshooting & fault isolation.

Ability to develop/analyze/deliver space system test products. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance

Desired skills
Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS Project

Experience with flight hardware launch processing operations

Experience developing input to post-operation lessons learned database

Knowledge of Automation Framework test tool is a plus

Knowledge of power-on testing for flight hardware and/or vehicles
