Avionics Integration and Test Engineer

This position supports the integration of a development helicopter. The Avionics Integration and Test Engineer is responsible for developing Engineering Test Procedures (ETPs), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) and Flight Test Procedures (FTPs) for Avionics and Electrical subsystems. This role also supports Operations in the execution of test procedures on the aircraft. Knowledge of Avionics and Electrical subsystems required (hardware and software). This role is based in Stratford, CT, but short term travel to Owego, NY, is required.

Specific duties include:
• Generate, review, provide comments, and support performance of Test Procedures.
• Manage changes to released test procedures.
• Execute test procedures
• Work closely with Operations during execution of test procedures to troubleshoot and resolve issues, identify and remove obstacles, and maintain continuity with the testing process.
• Write test reports per Sikorsky T-GUIDE-088.
• Generate System Inquiry Reports (SIRs) to document issue discovery.
• Manage issues found during testing, isolate and resolve issues.
• Attend weekly coordination meetings.
• Provide weekly status reports indicating progress for the week (accomplishments, issues and risks and input for earned value reporting)).
• Participate in Avionics technical reviews

Basic Qualifications
10+ years experience in aerospace or defense related integration and test

Desired skills
- Management of test plan development
- Understanding of helicopter Avionics and Electrical subsystems
- Familiarity with Military and/or FAA certification standards.
- Knowledge of MIL Standards, digital Bus architecture (Ethernet, ARINC- 429, MIL-STD- 1553)
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, DOORS
