This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager and performs testing and evaluations on JMATS and ATARS ll Maintenance and Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs).
This will be a dual role position working both Systems Engineering and Test Engineering responsibilities.
Selected candidate should be familiar with testing methods on complex simulation equipment. Candidate should be familiar with various types of test equipment such as multi-channel recorders, signal generators, light meters, vergence meters, theodolite, etc
Selected candidate will also be working in a Systems Engineering role as directed by the manager. This will include troubleshooting, testing, repairing and maintaining complex simulator systems. The candidate will also review, update and maintain technical documentation as required
Candidate will be working closely with other HW and SW Engineers, Technicians, Instructors, Technical Writers and CM personnel. Good communication skills are a must
This position will be responsible for performing/analyzing/scheduling device functional checks and automated and manual testing. This includes supporting internal/government aircrew and maintenance training device SIMCERTS and other test events.
Candidate must understand the principles of simulator engineering and correlate the impact on aircrew Training Task Lists (TTL). Candidate must be able to translate subjective inputs from aircrew members into actionable engineering improvements to increase device utilization.
This position will also attend and participate in the requirements, design, implementation, and test & acceptance phases of project life cycles related to 130J modifications. More specifically, this position will be responsible for requirement verification to include evaluation of System Requirements Specification (SRS) artifacts and other development products (design, implementation) against the specification, and to verify that the requirements are well written and testable. This position is also responsible for creating acceptance test procedures that verify system requirements, and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing events associated with J devices. Candidate must have a good understanding of systems engineering approach to requirements validation processes, and will be responsible for authoring and reviewing test engineering CDRLs associated with J-device modifications.
Will update and create regression testing procedures to minimize impacts to the device during modifications and device software discrepancy corrections. As such, he/she coordinates and performs the testing of Design Request and Discrepancies prior to Government Software Load acceptance. Responsible for verifying that the software load used are under Configuration Management's control at all times. Maintains and tracks all generated Discrepancies.
Point of contact for the engineering, configuration management and the customer for modification testing, discrepancy resolution and rechecks. Will be responsible for the controlled and free-play testing by government/customer with the intent to maintain control and generate/communicate actionable issues
Process improvement objectives include design, development, and implementation of improved testing methods and incorporation of lessons learned
International Travel is required

Basic Qualifications
Ability to work with AFSOC, AETC, and ACC commands.

The candidate must have demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction.

Must be capable of attaining a SECRET clearance and International Travel is required

C-130 legacy experience required.

Must have worked in an environment where candidate was required to interact with multiple functional areas of a diverse nature. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required

Desired skills
Technical writing and knowledge of Microsoft Access and Project desired
Experience with working with USAF or other military personnel.
Experience with HC/MC-130J aircraft and/or simulators
Experience with AFSOC and ACC Simulation Certification.(SIMCERT)
Must be able to work flexible hours
C-130J qualified pilot desired
