This position is for a Subsystem Design Engineer supporting the U2 aircraft in Palmdale, California. The successful applicant will use their technical expertise to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex problems. The candidate shall have advanced and thorough knowledge in fuel, hydraulics, landing gear, secondary power, and liquid cooling systems and a broad knowledge of all related disciplines

Responsibilities for this position include:

- Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action
- Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work
- Create system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans
- Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer
- Support manufacturing, ground/flight test and customer operating locations
- Plan and initiate their own work, lead teams, and mentor less experience engineers
- The candidate may function in a project leadership role where they manage system performance, budget and schedule

Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access

AEROADP

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Engineering Discipline with minimum of 14 years of experience or Master's Degree in a Engineering Discipline with 12 years of experience.

- Experience with CATIA, Pro Engineer, Unigraphics or equivalent CAD tool


Experience with subsystems design; such as fuels, hydraulics, electrical, ECS, landing gear, and secondary power

-Must have a Interim Secret Clearance to Start

Desired skills
- Experience with CATIA V4, CADAM and manual drawings
- Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
- Excellent writing and communication skills
