This position is for a Structural Dynamics Analyst for the NASA Low Boom Flight Demonstrator (LBFD). This position requires an Aircraft Vibro-Acoustic or Structural Dynamics Analyst to use their technical expertise to perform analysis of aircraft vibration issues. The candidate will apply his or her understanding of the technical principles of structural analysis toward the solution of technical problems. The candidate will have thorough knowledge in the field of aircraft structural analysis and will have a broad knowledge of all related disciplines. The candidate will be responsible for preliminary and detailed analysis of aircraft structures, structural assemblies, participation in trade studies and coordination with Integrated Product Teams.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant will not require a secret clearance to begin employment, but will be submitted for a secret clearance afterwards

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor or above Degree in an Engineering Technical Discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
Familiar with Aircraft Structural Dynamics

Desired skills

Structural analysis hand calculation methods

Durability and Damage Tolerance

Familiar with fatigue & fracture

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Experience using LM Aero Common Analysis Tools including SLIM/Vision/IDAT

ABAQUS

MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN

Metallic and composite analysis

Familiarity with CATIA V5

Understanding of drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes

Excellent writing and communication skills

Active Secret clearance within 5 years of last investigation
