We are seeking a Senior Engineer for Preliminary Design to help lead and support international and FMS proposals and technical investigations for all helicopter product lines

Responsible for the initiation, strategy coordination, kickoff, development & preparation, analysis, tracking, and quality of engineering cost estimates. Provide day to day leadership for the engineering estimate team. Coordinate general engineering support of proposals and negotiation

Position Roles and Responsibilities - Responsible for the initiation, development, preparation, analysis, and quality of Engineering Cost Estimates used in the preparation of numerous Proposal types over various Platforms including U.S. Government Proposals, Foreign Gov't Proposals, Commercial Proposals, CR&D Proposals, and Single and Multi-year U. S. Government Sustaining Procurements.

Solicit functional engineering estimates and associated data, assemble AEM, coordinate estimate inputs and coordinate engineering signature cycle

Support development of proposal write-ups.

Manage and coordinate engineering Customer Requests For Information (RFIs) for proposal fact-finding and negotiations. Support negotiation

Interface with the BAT and customers

Support development of model/tools and cost estimating relationships. Develop and track critical metrics

Overall process owner for engineering estimating.

Preliminary design skills, with breadth of knowledge and some depth. Products are preliminary design configurations and derivative designs for various customers, RFP and RFI responses (technical definition, coordination with Platform Team), product improvement plans and roadmaps (integration of new technology initiatives in a measured way to improve performance), and support of marketing and sales (configuration definition responses to various customer requests). Knowledge of Bill of Materials for various aircraft preferred. Engineering degree, preferably Aerospace, Electronic or Mechanical engineering is required. Knowledge of 3D design and CATIA skills is also useful, though not required.
Six to eight years of avionics/airframe/subsystem design. Broad understanding of Sikorsky Product Line and Business Development Process. Broad range of understanding of air vehicle systems and their interrelationships
Knowledge of current Sikorsky helicopter products preferred. Knowledge of avionics systems and mission equipment is very useful. Must be able to multi-task and work as part of a diverse team to support customer schedules. Expected to take leadership role on proposal and roadmap efforts

PC skills and the ability to accommodate changing priorities on a daily basis are a must. Strong communication skills required. U.S. citizenship or green card required.

Some travel (international and domestic), may be required

Basic Qualifications
BS in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
