Lockheed Martin in Colorado is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to work on a cutting-edge team developing embedded systems solutions targeting problems related to (but not limited to) cyber security

The Job:
As one of the largest defense contractors in the world, Lockheed Martin is responsible for developing embedded systems platforms in many exciting domains including satellites and avionics. This Staff Systems Engineer position provides the opportunity to get involved on the ground-floor of an exciting new program designing and developing new software and hardware components to be integrated into the future F-35. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience designing complex systems as well as general systems engineering experience including writing and managing requirements, use cases, and maintaining requirements and verification traceability. Involvement in all phases of software development is required, i.e. development of software requirements and design documents, project plans, software coding, testing, and training customers on the use of the project. The selected candidate may also be involved in various embedded and cyber security related research and development projects

Keeping up with the latest methods, tools, and technologies is important to their success and as such most projects target the latest FPGA devices on the market and training opportunities are often made available

Littleton Colorado is a suburb of Denver Colorado. Located near the front range of the Rocky Mountains the area is known for its 300 days of sunshine, thriving cultural scene, and natural beauty. The area offers nearly endless opportunities for nearby snow skiing, hiking, and nature viewing

Basic Qualifications
-Candidates with specialized systems engineering experience including DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware) and Design Assurance Plan for CEH (Complex Electronic Hardware) are preferred.
-Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an engineering or scientific discipline
-Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test and deployment)
-Strong technical communication skills (experience communicating technical designs to non-technical customers and communicating customer desires to technical team)
-Experience preparing engineering milestone artifacts such as: Requirements, Architecture, Functional Design, Detailed Design, Requirements tractability matrix
-Experience with industry standard requirement tracking system like DOORS or ReqPro
-Strong systems engineering knowledge
-Must have strong teamwork skills
-Good written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills
-Demonstrated understanding of agile development within a scrum team
-Ability to work in a team focused, dynamic environment
-Proven ability to lead and work in all aspects of the systems engineering and operations support efforts associated with the development, integration and demonstration of a system solution which complies with all performance requirements
-Experience with Jira and Confluence
