Job Details

The candidate will perform as the Lead MDAOC Engineer on the EADGE-T international program. The candidate must perform system engineering, mechanical design and development of tactical shelters, and communications On-The-Move (COTM) systems used in austere military environments. The candidate must have experience with design tools like AutoCAD or other 3D software. The candidate must also have experience with installation. The candidate must have experience leading a team to prototype and install Mobile and Deployable operation centers. The candidate must be willing to travel overseas and within the USA.

Specifically, the position requires the following:
• Experience with system engineering -requirements analysis, design and integration and testing
• Experience with Design/drawing of tactical shelters
• Understanding of the complete range of product drawings used for specification, fabrication, assembly, wiring, inspection, and installation of equipment
• Ability to apply pertinent military, and industrial design and drawing standards as necessary
• Research, plan, design, develop and document mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems to meet requirements
• Modeling of COTS components in 3D design software (AutoCAD), developing an approach for mounting those components, and creation of the related data package
• Knowledge of component level environmental testing, Environmental test experience – Vibration, Shock Tests, Thermal, Humidity, Motion, Dust and Water Protection, etc.
• Support fabrication, testing and installation

Successful candidate must be a self-starter, working under minimal guidance, and be creative in seeking solutions to various technical challenges on the firm fixed program

Basic Qualifications
The candidate must have the following experience/skills in Tactical Network systems:

• Generation of drawings of tactical shelters/kits and Comm on the move vehicles
• Understanding of the complete range of product drawings used for specification, fabrication, assembly, wiring, inspection, and installation of equipment
• Ability to apply pertinent military, and industrial design and drawing standards as necessary
• Research, plan, design, develop and document mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems to meet requirements
• Experience with Shock and vibration analysis
• AutoCAD or other 3D design software experience
• Custom hardware mount/bracket design and fabrication
• Development of engineering documentation such as drawings, specifications, etc
• Proficiency with PC based MS Office products
• Knowledge of component level environmental testing, Environmental tests– Vibration, Shock Tests, Thermal, Humidity, Motion, Dust and Water Protection, etc.
• Support fabrication, testing and installation
• Experience with Earned Value Management and team leadership

• Proposal and working knowledge of Tactical Network systems
• Wind load calculations for elevated mast and antenna systems
• Testing of hardware and systems to MIL-STD-810
• Hardware document control experience
