The MOS organization is looking for a talented System Administrator / Server Engineer / Team Lead to support the Sensor Modeling Center (SMC) task order. The Systems Administrator/Server Engineer will be responsible for maintaining smooth operation of IT infrastructure, IT team management and use ITIL processes to manage system and customer support. They will support software development in a primarily Red Hat Linux environment. Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and coordinate work activities with network administrators
Perform essential deployment engineering tasks including site surveys, installation, configuration management, documentation, commissioning, and upgrade/patch management. Will make recommendations to purchase hardware, software and supporting IT gear for the production platform and provide backup and recovery. Will install, configure and maintain services such as MySQL, IBM Rational Products, and Developer support tools. Will work closely with IA Security to review Scans and evaluate and remediate results. Primary duty hours are 0700-1600 with shift work and on-call required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities. Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in IT or related engineering discipline and at least 15 years of relevant experience. • In-depth knowledge of the Linux Operating System to include performance analysis and kernel tuning. • Experience with hardware and hardware configurations to include firmware upgrades. • Understanding of the Release and Deployment Management process specified by the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) process at the Foundation level. • Knowledge of shell scripting. • Cross-platform experience and the expertise to identify and resolve integration issues. • Must have certifications required by DOD 8570 (Security + with CE at a minimum)
