Job Details

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Guidance and Control Engineer for Second Source Aft Section development and qualification on a major missile program in Grand Prairie, TX. The applicant shall have a demonstrated ability to successfully serve as the technical lead for G&C hardware development from an offsite supplier to already existing performance and interface specification as a second source guidance actuator to the current supplier. Subsequent integration efforts to follow.

The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with a robust economy and a pleasant climate. The Mid-Cities is the suburban region filling the thirty-mile span between Dallas and Fort Worth. These communities include the cities of Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Southlake, Colleyville, HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford), NRH (North Richland Hills and Richland Hills), Haltom City, Watauga, and Keller, along with multiple other smaller towns such as Trophy Club and Roanoke and together represent more people than either Dallas or Fort Worth

Basic Qualifications
Must have ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

The applicant should have a Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Control Engineering. The successful candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge and experience with both control subsystems and a strong development background in actuator systems. Experience with Electromechanical Packaging is also required

The Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively interact with customers and contractors

Ability to work in a collaborative IPT environment and will be responsible for representing LM in several IPTs.

The candidate must be a self-starter with good organizational skills

Experience using Matlab or similar simulation software application for guidance and control development and test.

Domestic Travel approximately 25% anticipated

Desired skills
3 – 5 years of professional experience in guidance and control engineering

Knowledge of using Matlab or similar applications for guidance and control simulation development

Previous integration and test experience

Experience across engineering disciplines

Experience in risk management and earned value management
