MITREs Center for Financial Enterprise Transformation is looking for technical professionals to work with the Social Security Administration (SSA) to modernize and enable its internal processing and customer services. Modernizing IT systems and ecosystems is a key element of our portfolio. You will use your abilities to address complex issues of critical national significance. We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed candidates with a broad spectrum of experience in modernizing large-scale data and processing-intensive systems, migration planning, and transformation. We value data-driven and thorough analysis, impactful communication, and a bias for action.

Day to day responsibilities:

You will provide thought leadership and problem solving for SSA government customers in collaboration with stakeholders from private, federal, state and local sectors. Specific responsibilities will include:

Work in partnership with SSA government stakeholders and MITRE technical staff in understanding current SSA business process flows and associated governance to inform business and IT engineering efforts.
Help SSA leaders to translate their mission, vision, goals and strategies into actionable programs within a coherent concept of operations.
Analyze the current state and support the design of objective future business operations for SSA organizations in order to aid SSA decision making.
Provide assistance to SSA in continuous process improvement efforts as well as business process reengineering (BPR) projects.
Assist in the development of enterprise architectures at the business level, identifying their core competencies, defining measures, and identifying capabilities.

*Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to successfully complete an IRS Minimum Background Investigation. Those that hold an active U.S. Government Security Clearance are encouraged to apply.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems Management or related disciplines.

15+ years experience operating in many of the following SSA business domains:

Disability Determinations
Title II
Title XVI

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with multiple Government departments or agencies is preferred, but experience working on transformational projects in other complex environments may be considered.
Applicable Master's degree or MBA
Candidates holding current / active US Government security clearance(s) are highly preferred.
