Primary Responsibilities:  Electrical Engineer with proven experience and working knowledge of electrical systems engineering and controls. This position will report to the Director, Infrastructure Energy and will consist of duties such as leading electrical systems design, fabrication, integration, and testing. The successful candidate will provide Electrical Engineering support to multiple programs. Individual responsibilities include leading electrical and electronic detailed hardware, software, and firmware design and development. Other responsibilities include supporting manufacturing by preparing specs and developing test methods. Data analysis, report writing, creating graphs and charts from information and engineering calculations are also required. Individual should also be comfortable presenting technical summaries of findings to peers. 

  • ·       Lead technical aspects of energy project activities 
  • ·       Lead analysis and development of installation power systems  
  • ·       Prepare one line and layout drawing development  
  • ·       Prepare specifications for construction of electrical systems  
  • ·       Perform engineering studies and evaluations of electrical systems  
  • ·       Prepare cost estimates for energy system development  
  • ·       Lead electrical control system development for process installations  
  • ·       Prepare control systems diagrams for process installations  
  • ·       Program HMI, PLC and embedded controllers for process installations  
  • ·       Lead requirements analysis, design engineering, costing and scheduling for existing projects and for new job proposals  
  • ·       Interpret specification and application requirements and reconcile them with electrical product design  
  • ·       Conduct internal design reviews as required  
  • ·       Lead developing technical content of engineering proposals  
  • ·       Prepare test and qualification plans  
  • ·       Lead cross-functional meetings to review project progress  
  • ·       Lead corrective action teams to solve quality problems  
  • ·       Lead activities ensuring manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements  
  • ·       Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks  

Basic Qualifications:  

  • ·       Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent with at least 10 years' experience, or the addition of a Master's Degree with minimum of 6 years' experience. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance  
  • Demonstrates written and oral communication skills and strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills for correspondence and report writing, presentations and explaining analysis and solutions to a variety of audiences  
  • Is well organized with the ability to properly prioritize and is adept at time management  
  • Experience in development of military products 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification  
  • Skilled in AutoCAD  
  • Skilled in electrical modeling systems  
  • Strong work ethic, capable of working well in broad areas with diverse teams  
  • Positive attitude  
  • Good interpersonal skills  
  • Strong analytical skills  
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines  
  • Demonstrated business acumen and customer mindset  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong environmental, health and safety ethics  

Clearance:  Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance.
