We have an exciting opportunity for a Hardware Power Supply and Embedded Control Design Engineer here at Mission Systems.



**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**



+ We are looking for a results-oriented design engineer with experience in the development, integration, and test of advanced electronic systems. The successful candidate will be engaged in the development and demonstration of new, cutting edge systems in support of UAV missions and /or High Energy Laser Systems. These systems will utilize advanced technologies in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Electro-Optical Systems, Power Electronics, Digital Power Supply Control, and Electro-mechanical Technology.

+ The successful candidate will have substantial prior experience in the development of new systems. The successful candidate will, with limited direction, exercise considerable latitude for initiating and developing designs, procedures, techniques, and solutions to resolving difficult technical engineering problems. Assignments will normally be outlined in terms of broad specifications, objectives, possible results anticipated, and critical reference points requiring special attention. The candidate will guide the successful resolution of engineering problems, serve as a consulting resource for engineering knowledge, apply the latest technological advancements to the problem, and will often function in a project leadership role.

+ The position will involve documentation of findings, communication of results to engineering staff, and technical presentations. He/she may represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects.

+ Experience guiding a design through development and into production is desirable. A Professional Engineering License, original work(s) published in professional engineering journals, and presentation of one or more original works to an engineering symposium are also desirable. Experience in working both analog and digital systems, and with control systems that control both digital and analog processes.



**Job Qualifications**



+ Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, four or more years of experience with a master's degree, or two or more years with a PhD.

+ Embedded Controls with Power Background

+ Desired Skills: Experience with LabView, VHDL, C/C++, PADS, PSpice, signal integrity tools, printed circuit fabrication, digital and analog design, power supply design, and digital control of power supplies. Experience with multiphase DC to DC converters and uProcessor control of power supplies is a plus.

+ Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals. Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact, as well as providing leadership and guidance to less experienced professionals.

+ **Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.**
