The Advanced Development group drives the creation of new opportunities for firm by applying new technologies and enabling breakthrough product development for the fast-evolving intelligent grid. We are looking for an experienced distribution protection and automation engineer with excellent computer-based analytical skills.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Providing and justifying protection settings for distribution networks

+ Providing settings for distribution automation (FLISR)

+ Creating computer logic from industry standards, know-hows, and best practices

+ Designing and supervising tests through computer simulation

+ Promoting automation solution to various internal and external parties

+ Communicating across the range of stakeholders to develop specification, resolve problems and identify opportunities

+ Engaging with industry to understand needs, identify opportunities and initiate actions to address those opportunities

+ Maintaining solid understanding of industry and technology trends and methods


To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

+ Minimum 10 years of experience in the electric power industry, of which at least 5 years setting protection devices and distribution automation devices

+ Experience working with distributed generation connected to the distribution network

+ Proficiency in the use of commercial distribution network modeling tools such as those by CYME or ASPEN

+ Experience with open-source modeling tools such as MATPOWER, OpenDSS, or PSAT

+ Good understanding of load flow analysis, fault current calculations, OPF

+ Professional Engineer certification highly desired (any state)

Minimum Experience (yrs): 10-15
