This mission critical position will support the Fury Unmanned Air Vehicle program for Lockheed Martin Unmanned Integrated Systems (LM-UIS). LM-UIS is located in San Luis Obispo, CA (on the beautiful Central Coast). We are seeking a very talented and highly motivated engineer for this position.

As a member of the Fury team (a group III unmanned aerial system) you will be called upon to solve complex problems alongside the industry’s most talented aerospace, mechanical, propulsion, electrical, and software engineers. The ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams is essential.

Your role’s primary focus will be on the design, development, and testing of airborne avionics and ground control station systems. As a Electrical Engineer, you will demonstrate ownership of various subsystems and will participate in all phases of the development cycle including flight tests. You will work with high-performance teams and your work will be held to a very high standard.

The Fury engineering team is passionate about producing quality solutions with agility, while retaining industry-leading safety standards. Our flight operations team is co-located in San Luis Obispo which places us at a unique advantage for efficient stakeholder participation in our Scrum process

The Locale: San Luis Obispo is a city in California, located roughly midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Central Coast. San Luis Obispo is one of California's oldest communities and is locally referred to as San Luis, SLO, or SLO Town. The region is one of the most scenic in the state. San Luis Obispo is also home to California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). One of the primary draws of this area for students, visitors, and residents alike is the plethora of outdoor sports such as hiking, kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, skimboarding, diving, sailing, and kite boarding. Where can you get to from San Luis Obispo, CA? Santa Barbara is about a ninety minute drive to the southeast. Monterey is just over 2 hours to the north. San Jose is less than three hours to the north

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level
BS in Electrical Engineering, computer engineer or equivalent degree with experience in design, integration, and testing of electronics, electrical systems, and/or flight systems. Knowledge of analog and digital design concepts and principles

Desired skills
Experience with aircraft system design, test, and/or troubleshooting; Experience incorporating a variety of sensors, processors, protocols, and LRUs; Experience in RF system testing/troubleshooting. RF link budget experience preferred ( LOS, BLOS, GPS); EMI testing and mitigation experience; Familiarity with harness, schematic, and PCB design software; Electronic packaging design for vibration, temperature, mechanical, and EMI performance; Experience developing R&D programs towards increased reliability and production environment; and Unmanned vehicle experience
