Snap-on is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for its Power Tools division, in the Kenosha, Wisconsin office. This position will provide technical expertise and hands-on leadership in the design and development of innovative new or improved power tools products that exceed the premium expectations of Snap-on customers. The selected candidate will serve as the subject–matter expert on circuits, components, assemblies and test methods and as the primary integrator of all electrical components in a power tool. They will take direction from the Director of Engineering but also work independently to lead and execute multiple assigned projects at the same time.


+ Lead and direct cross-functional teams on simultaneous complex projects to meet established requirements

+ Use project management techniques, including project plan development and execution, project monitoring and control, and integrated change control.

+ Manage processes including task definition and sequencing, duration estimation, and schedule development and control to ensure projects are completed on schedule from concept through production while balancing user input, function, durability and cost

+ Serve as the primary integrator of all electrical components in a power tool

+ Optimize hardware designs / layouts and firmware to manage high wattage electrical loads

+ Serve as a subject–matter expert on circuits, components, assemblies and test methods

+ Serve as a key participant in the effort to identify and select suppliers of electronic assemblies and components

+ Establish test plans and procedures to validate the proper function of circuits, components and assemblies

+ Prepare thorough and accurate documentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records

+ Document work activity in support of company’s patent goals

+ Work with manufacturing to to reduce product cost and/or improve performance of designs and improve manufacturability


+ Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

+ PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus

+ Ten (10) years product development experience

+ Demonstrated skills in the design and product development of battery control circuits

+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills

+ Knowledge in Power Electronics, Power Conversion, Distribution Components, circuit boards and related products

+ Understanding of complimentary technical disciplines... software and mechanical

+ Understanding of government / regulatory agency approval processes

+ Experience supervising or leading a mid-size team

+ Some travel required
