Job Details

Rosedale Products Engineering Company is looking for a Sr. Automotive Engineer to work on the design and development of automotive parts and products primarily for GM vehicles. Formulate technical specifications and technical solutions in design related issues. Coordinate with team members and suppliers. Support design changes and follows BOS (Business Operating System) procedures. Apply best practices in creating layout drawings, detail drawings and assembly drawings. Use customer’s environment drawings to ensure no packaging or interference problems exist in the drawings data. Apply drawing standards, FEA, GD&T, root cause analysis, DVP, DFMEA, hand calculations, carry-over and CPP technology. Execute robust design and design changes to provide the highest quality in the build and assembly of prototype parts with agreed to process. Ensure design data is released on-time to support highest quality assemblies for testing and the customer. Support root cause analysis in the resolution of test failures. Inform engineering manager of any potential safety concern. Provide test specifications and review set up for product testing. Support generation of DFMEAs prior to release of prototype tooling. Support development of technical solutions to meet project objectives regarding cost, performance and timing. Provide technical supports to suppliers. Perform design studies or tolerance stack-ups to ensure highest quality product assembly and performance. Execute best practices and early detection for BSR (buzz, squeak and rattle). Keep up knowledge of advancing technology and implement as appropriate. Use Auros system and compare gaps between design and GM requirements, and provide change direction. Support GM IVER builds, serve as front line technical customer interface. Develop and provide resolution to customer technical issues through CBU/PBU engineering manager. Support GM vehicle validation, evaluate vehicle crash, durability test result, analyze failure mode and coordinate with oversea team to provide resolution. Use CATIA, UG, DFA, VPM, FEA, Office Series, FCA develop process, FCA PF specifications, FCA Teamcenter, Visview, EPIC, g-Limse, Auros, TDM, Covisint, GM Cement, GM E Square, GM PRTS, GM Teamcenter, GM Standard (China), FMVSS (U.S.), ECE (Europe), GM SSTS, GM CTS, GM GVDP and GM Warranty Process.

Requirements

Educational requirements: Bachelor or its foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Automation, or Automotive Engineering. 

Work Experience requirements: 5 years of work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation as a Mechanical Engineer, Product Engineer, Design Engineer, or Automotive Engineer. 

Specific skill or other requirements: The required 5 years of experience must include at least 3 years of work experience with design and development of automotive parts and using CATIA, UG (Unigraphics), FEA, DFMEA and DFA (Design for Assembly). Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
