Serve on a team providing improved enterprise and system sensor capabilities to the space domain. Activities could include:

  • Conduct studies on cost-effective acquisition enhancements to support space surveillance awareness (SSA) enterprise mission requirements. 

  • Assess system performance of SSA sensors, to include in the broader context of the SSA mission.

  • Support development of modeling and simulation (M&S) software tools. 

  • Conduct SSA architecture and performance trade studies. 

  • Work with Government acquisition and Contractor personnel to understand the technical baseline and ensure proposed upgrades meet the system requirements in a cost-effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering and 3 years related experience. The candidate will demonstrate advanced principles, theories, concepts comparable to those obtained with a master's degree in the fields listed below. The candidate demonstrates sponsors'/customers' missions, domains, challenges. Fully responsible for deliverablesincluding definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span. 

  • Strong technical breadth in several facets of large complex DoD systems, including radar and/or optical technology

  • Familiarity with Space C2 systems and the military space domain

  • Broad engineering expertise in system engineering, analysis, design and evaluation

  • Prior experience with Space and Missile Center and/or Air Force Space Command

  • Knowledge of Air Force Space Surveillance Network (SSN) sensors, tasking, and CONOPS

  • Experience dealing effectively with senior-level sponsors addressing complex technical and operational issues

  • Strategic thinker and planner.  Excellent collaboration, organizational and communication skills.  Ability to multi-task.  Strong time management skills

  • Self-starter capable of working with minimal direct supervision


  • Knowledge of the large-scale M&S tools and advanced systems analysis techniques.  Ability to develop and enhance modeling and simulation (M&S) software tools.

  • Experience with large AF acquisitions; agile or tailored acquisitions a plus
