Job Details

The Sound and Vibration Laboratories are part of the Technical Services. The responsibility of this group is to provide technical support in the areas of sound and vibration (S&V) to other groups in the company to ensure that the overall goals of the company, as stated in the mission statement, are met.

Support to Design Engineering:

  • Improve understanding of impact of design changes on products' S&V performance
  • Provide answers to specific questions from design engineers related to S&V
  • Provide assistance in new product design to improve S&V performance

Support to Manufacturing:

  • Improve understanding process changes impact on products' S&V performance
  • Improve understanding of process variability on products' S&V performance variability
  • Provide answers to questions from the manufacturing groups

Support to Application Engineering:

  • Improve understanding of the impact of our products on the S&V performance of our OEM's products
  • Provide assistance to our customers to solve specific S&V problems related to the use of our products in their systems
  • Provide training in the use of analytical and experimental tools for noise and vibration control to facilitate the use of our products by our customers

Support to the Laboratories:

  • Develop new and improve tools for understanding and controlling noise and vibration in our products
  • Develop new and improve analysis procedures for the qualification of the sound performance of new products
  • Develop new and improve tools aid in the manufacturing audit to ensure acceptable S&V performance of our products


Additional Information
  •  Travel: 5%




  • Master's degree in acoustics, mechanical engineering or related field with a good knowledge of the laws that govern the generation, propagation and control of sound and vibration with 3 years of related experience.
  • Good understanding of the basic theory of noise and vibration control
  • Ability to effectively use analytical and experimental tools to find practical solutions to real problems
  • Tools include general sound and vibration measurements, signal processing, modal analysis, numerical modeling, basic analytical modeling


  • Master's degree with five plus years of experience
